Global Missions

Touch A Life - Ghana

During our 2012 “Summer of Justice,” we read Pam Cope’s Memoir, Jantsen’s Gift, which chronicles the beginnings of the foundation called “Touch A Life.”  The mission of Touch A Life is to RESCUE child trafficking survivors, RENEW them through holistic healing, and RESTORE their dignity as we empower them to become agents of change in their communities.

2025 Update:  Touch A Life’s mantra has always been to raise a generation of leaders who will rise up and be the voice for the voiceless, working to eradicate modern-day slavery in their own country. For two decades, they have faithfully served over 140 children rescued from trafficking and vulnerable situations, providing a safe sanctuary, quality education, and medical care for each child.  Touch A Life children are now dispersed throughout high schools and colleges all over Ghana, and they have 31 college graduates.  These students have inherited the responsibility to advocate and stand in the gap for vulnerable children and those still in slavery. All are being equipped to disrupt the cycle of trafficking in their communities.

Horizon has partnered with Touch A Life in the following ways:
2015 Ghana Mission Trip (took handmade dresses, craft/sports supplies)

Becky Matthews - TWR

Hello, I am Becky Matthews. I am a Coloradan currently living in Pennsylvania with my husband, Rich. I joined TWR in August 2013 as one of their first telecommuters and serve the Europe office in the Marcom (Marketing and Communications) and Donor Services departments. Upon completing the Perspectives on the World Christian Movement course in 2012, I heeded the Lord’s calling and began searching for a ministry to join full-time. TWR accepted me as a remote worker. I began working with the Cary, NC office to create a way to telecommute as an editor and writer for the Europe and CAMENA region (Central Asia, Middle East, North Africa). In addition to serving as a missionary with TWR, I am a ThM student at Dallas Theological Seminary and involved in my local church.

The Jones Family

We are the Joneses and are thrilled to be part of a new team in Southeast Asia, dedicated to forming a non-profit that focuses on community development projects that address human trafficking prevention. Our main objective will be to empower and support youth, offering them valuable professional development training, essential life skills, and awareness of human trafficking tactics. Through the relationships we build with our students, we want to also form relationships with their families and share the gospel with the entire family.  Eventually, our goal is to work with local church planters and plant house churches once we start seeing individuals come to know Christ. We are grateful for the opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of people in Southeast Asia!

The Bowers Family

The primary goal of our ministry is to see churches established among the least reached.  In general we do that by the following activities
1. Prayer
2. Going to the Lost and finding those that God has prepared and casting vision for discipleship
3. Disciple those that we find by starting Bible study groups
4. Coach and Mentor the leaders of groups to see them become mature churches
5. Encourage new churches to go through steps 1-4
We primarily lead our teams in four Middle Eastern countries.  We mentor and coach team leaders in personal practice, and their leadership of the teams and help in leadership and administration.
We also coach and mentor leaders in the Middle East/North Africa region beyond the primary four Middle Eastern countries we serve. We will also begin assisting leaders for the Middle East in various roles such as leadership development and fundraising
